I hope you know that I am both a literary agent (two decades worth of sales) and the editorial director of Ravenousromance. com, where we're publishing a book and a short story a day.

I started as an agent of horror, fantasy and science fiction, but also sold nonficiton books about pop culture (often about science fiction, fantasy and horror - Future Noir: The Making of Blade Runner, for instance).

Somehow that lead to a request to represent some of the people in the adult entertainment industry, and while doing that, I started wondering what had happened to the erotica market of my youth (Anais Nin, Nancy Friday, Anne Rice's Beauty Books ). That's when I started representing Cecilia Tan, who writes erotic science fiction, fantasy and horror.

I edited two erotica anthologies for Thunders Mouth Press with Cecilia Tan - The MILF Anthology and Cowboy Lover. Once I reconnected with the erotica world, I discovered hundreds of wonderful writers who wrote anywhere between 10 and 100 short stories a year, and published them in anthologies. I knew these writers could be integrated into the burgoening erotic romance market, and started working with them towards that end. I quickly sold novels to Harlequin, Bantam, Avon, etc. for these writers.

But my writers could write much more than one novel a year. Many of them could write 4 to 6 to ten novels a year, but that's not the way print publishing works. Epublishing, on the other hand, embraced this ravenous readership.

About 9 months ago, I joined forces with two publishing colleagues, Holly Schmidt and Allan Penn, who wanted to break into the exciting new world of epublishing. We believe that epublishing is the new mass market - where affordable books can be offered to readers at the pace they read them.

We started ravenousromance.com in December, giving readers a new book or short story every day as both ebooks and audiobooks. Our titles quickly made the various epublishing and audio best-seller lists.

One of our best-selling categories is paranormal erotic romance. We also have a number of erotic science fiction tales (I am in love with Lisa Lane's LUST IN SPACE) and a ton of vampire and werewolf tales.

Our M/M fiction has already made some best-seller lists (Ryan Fields' PRETTY MAN was No. 1 at All Romance Ebooks), and our contemporaries (SAVING SOPHIE by Elle Amery) and historicals (LAND OF THE FALLING STARS by Keta Diablo) have received 4 and 5 star reviews.

We are looking for new voices and new takes on classic subjects. One of our most successful strategies has been to re-tell a classic story, from a fairy tale (THE GLASS STILLETO is an S&M retelling of Cinderella) to a favorite romantic film ( MARRAKESH is a M/M version of Casablanca).
